Sort (Seiri)

Basic Definition: To remove what is not needed and keep what is needed.
Applied 5S: Question why we accumulated so much for so many days ? Address the root cause to avoid accumulation again . Link to Inventory, space productivity

Set in Order/ Systematic arrangement (Seiton)

Basic Definition: Place things in such a way that they can be easily reached whenever they are needed.
Applied 5S: Keep only minimum quantity at the point of use, Reduce waste of unnecessary motion , link to productivity, quality and cost

Shine (Seiso)

Basic Definition: Keep things clean and polished; no trash or dirt in the workplace
Applied 5S: Prevent dust to reduce cleaning time. Make cleaning as a method of inspection. Linked to better utilization of assets, health & environment

Standardize (Seiketsu)

Establish Standards for 1st 3 S ( 1S,2S and 3S).

Use Visual methods to expose waste and abnormalities.

Sustain through Self Discipline (Shitsuke)
